Latinos Salud moves to larger space in Kendall to serve growing demand for HIV/STD screening, education and linkage-to-care. The address for Latinos Salud’s upgraded location is 2760 SW 97th Ave Suite 103, Miami, FL 33165. Today they are hosting an Open from noon to 1:30 and again from 5-7pm.

Friday, August 17
The Latina Princess, Shakira, will be performing at the American Airlines Arena in her El Dorado Tour today and tomorrow at 7:30pm. Ticket, which start at $76.50, can be purchased at: aaarena.com.

Let’s Get Artsy at the Wilton Manors Art & Entertainment Expo from 6-9 pm. The night will showcase local artists, craftsmen, musicians, and businesses in the Arts & Entertainment District (1900-2400 Wilton Drive). For more information, go to: wmae.org.

Not many clubs in the world can boast 20 years in the nightlife industry; Score is one of the exceptions. Enter, actress/activist/model/author Dominique Jackson of the wildly popular show, Pose. “The Mother” will be hosting the evening’s celebration as well as judging the House of Lords vs House of Infinity. One of the reasons Score remains iconic is simply the level of national and international DJ talent that comes through the doors. This evening will begin with South Beach’s iconic DJ, Smeejay. The beloved, local DJ Smeejay, is known for his quirky, eclectic look and style of music. Making his Score debut is Brazilian DJ, Renato Cecin as he takes the decks. Renato is the resident of the Week in San Paulo, voted best club in the world. As the evening progresses another international, critically acclaimed DJ takes over. DJ Alex Acosta has taken over the world with his fresh, upbeat and very energetic sound, playing at the hottest music festivals and clubs around the globe. He is also is a chart-topping producer, whose work is supported by several DJs and thousands of fans worldwide. The 5th Annual “What’s Your Elephant?” Group Art Exhibition with a display from Stonewall National Museum & Archives takes place at 1310 Art Gallery – Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts (1310 SW 2nd Ct, Fort Lauderdale) from 6 pm – 11 pm. Curated and programmed by artist Niki Lopez, What’s Your Elephant? as in ‘the elephant in the room’ is a metaphorical idiom for an obvious truth that is either being ignored or going unaddressed. The idiomatic expression also applies to an obvious problem or risk no one wants to discuss.

Georgie’s Alibi/Monkey Bar presents their new quarterly expanded party “Mega Beast” starring DJs Alex Ramos and Mike James, which will feature more men, more meat and more beast dancers.

The Manor World Events presents, back by popular demand, superstar DJ/Producer Oscar Velazquez (Mexico). In the Ivy Dance Room and Patio, Noche Latina Saturdays presents the Noche Latina Friday’s Reunion Party of, starring original cast members Erika Norell and Champagne Bordeaux. The night will also be celebrating Champagne’s Birthday. Also starring DJ Larry Larr and sexy Latin Go-Go Papi’s. Saturdays at the Manor is from 11pm to 4 am and feature NO COVER before midnight (FL Res) and only $7 for members after midnight and $10 for non-members (18-20 – $12 all night).

A Wider Bridge is the North American LGBTQ organization (501c3) building a movement of LGBTQ people and allies with strong interest in and commitment to supporting Israel and its LGBTQ community. They invite you to meet Eyal Migdalovich, creator of the Israeli LGBTQ Refugee Program, a project of the Aguda – Israel LGBTQ Taskforce, and Ohad Hizki, CEO of the Aguda. Eyal and Ohad will share their experiences of ongoing outreach and trust-building with LGBTQ Palestinian, Arab and African refugees and asylum seekers, within Israel and beyond. Included will be a video testimonial from a Palestinian refugee who sought asylum in Israel, and now lives in Sweden. The Jewish Museum of Florida (301 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) presents a Jewish food – Walking Tour from 11am to 2pm, where you can learn the history of the Miami Beach neighborhood and the Jewish-owned restaurants in the area past and present, while tasting samples of foods from Jewish restaurants. The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale is hosting another Dog Days of Summer event and has invited The Pet Project for Pets to participate in this fabulous fundraising occasion!
