Outlandish Comedy Series Returns for a Third Season

Pam Ann

Logo TV founder Matt Farber is bringing his Outlandish performance series back to South Florida for the third season. The expanded line-up, opening Jan. 5 at the Sunshine Cathedral in Fort Lauderdale, includes iconic comedians, superstar drag legends and the sexy cirque troupe AirOTic.

“We have the best series yet,” promises Farber. “We’re welcoming Fran Drescher, making her Fort Lauderdale debut, and the always hilarious Leslie Jordan. We’re bringing back fan favorites like Pam Ann, Miss Richfield 1981, Varla Jean Merman, and Coco Peru. We also have totally new and different acts, including the sexy AirOTic circus team and Lee Squared cabaret duo. It’s going to be a very special season.”

Subscription packages are now on sale. In addition to a discounted 8-show season package, options also include the 4-show “Drag Superstar Pass” (Varla Jean Merman, Pam Ann, Miss Richfield 1981 and Coco Peru) and the 4-show “Drag-Free Pass” (Leslie Jordan, Fran Drescher, AirOTic, Lee Squared).

Tickets for individual performances start at $30 each and go on sale Dec. 1. Premium seating and VIP tickets (including a meet-and-greet with the artists) are also available.

The 2019 Outlandish season includes:

VARLA JEAN MERMAN – “UNDER A BIG TOP”

Saturday, Jan. 5, 8 p.m.

Step right up and prepare yourself to be amazed, dazzled and possibly disturbed! Drag superstar and erstwhile “carny” Varla Jean Merman is coming back to town with three rings stuffed with fun…and all she needs is a big top! This circus-themed show is filled with jaw-dropping videos, awe-inspiring songs, and death-defying wigs, and celebrates 20 years as “The Freakiest Show on Earth.”

LESLIE JORDAN – “EXPOSED”

Saturday, Jan. 19, 8 p.m.

Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian Leslie Jordan (“Will & Grace,” “Sordid Lives,” “The Cool Kids”) invites his audiences behind-the-scenes of his childhood and career in his new show, “Exposed.” Look back at his experiences as a flamboyant youth raised as a Southern Baptist, as well as treasured anecdotes from his renowned stage and television performances.

FRAN DRESCHER – “SCHMOOZING WITH FRAN DRESCHER”

Saturday, Jan. 26, 8 p.m.

Funny girl Fran Drescher (“The Nanny”) shares, in her unique voice, both poignant and hilarious stories of her life. An ordinary girl from Queens who ends up living an extraordinary life and has seen it all, Fran shares the insights and life lessons she learned the hard way. Recollections, vivid stories and humorous characters all thread together in the telling of this remarkable actress, survivor and activist’s life.

PAM ANN – “FLIGHT ATTENDANT STAR”

Saturday, Feb. 9, 8 p.m.

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a flight attendant, traveling the world and telling passengers to f**k off?  Then, this is the show for you! Pam Ann is searching for her “Flight Attendant Star” and will select air hostie wannabes from the audience to see if they have what it takes. Dress up in your flight attendant finery and pack your Gucci carry-on for the chance to be showered with glory and crowned Pam Ann’s Flight Attendant Star!

AIROTIC

Thursday – Sunday, Feb. 14 – 16 and Saturday – Sunday, Feb. 23 – 24, 8 p.m.

“AirOtic” is a sexy and sensual cirque-style show! Physique, strength, burlesque and high-level acrobatics leave the audience on the edge of their seats, begging for more! Unlike other large acrobatic circuses, AirOTic only features six performers—who are not hidden behind masks—allowing the audience to develop a connection with each performer.

MISS RICHFIELD 1981 – “GENDER FLUIDS”

Saturday, March 9, 8 p.m.

She’s back! In her all-new show, “Gender Fluids,“ Miss Richfield 1981, a Fort Lauderdale favorite, will attempt to find non-binary answers to our increasingly complex world! With all-new music, videos, costumes and a healthy heap of help from the audience, this new show promises to celebrate all the genders— both old and new.

COCO PERU – “HAVE YOU HEARD?”

Saturday, March 23, 8 p.m.

Coco loves to reminisce. In fact, she’s very good at it. In “Have You Heard?,” Coco performs some of her favorite monologues and songs spanning her long career, as well as some new stuff, too. Whether you’ve heard all of these stories, or if you’re a Coco virgin, come see why Lily Tomlin called Coco, “one of the last great storytellers.” Experience the trailblazing Queen who elevated drag—all while wearing sensible heels.

LEE SQUARED: AN EVENING WITH LIBERACE & MISS PEGGY LEE

Saturday, April 6, 2019, 8 p.m.

In this funny and touching tribute, to Liberace and Peggy Lee, New York City Bistro and MAC Award-winners David Maiocco and Chuck Sweeney reprise their iconic performances as the music legends who defined four decades of music and pop culture. Two Lees for the price of one! Cape Cod Daily said, “Hilarious, Brilliant. Has to be SEEN, not described.”

The Outlandish performance series at the Sunshine Cathedral, created and produced by Logo TV founder Matt Farber, benefits the Pride Center at Equality Park and is sponsored by Atlantis, Georgie’s Alibi & Monkey Bar, and Orbitz.
