On Friday, November 25th, the Lambda Men’s Brotherhood is proud to present the 17th annual edition of The Leather Masked Ball. Since its inception, the Leather Masked Ball has been the largest leather/fetish charity fundraising event in the SouthEast. With funds from the event, as well as other events throughout the year, the Lambda Men’s Brotherhood has been able to raise over a quarter of a million dollars for at-need nonprofits in the community. Past beneficiaries have included Broward House, The Pride Center, Gilda’s Club of South Florida, The Pet Project For Pets, Pantry of Broward, Kids in Distress, and many other vital community resources.
Currently, funds are being raised for an initiative named the Lambda History Series. The intent is to provide a free-to-access LGBTQ+ history curriculum for high school students, educators, and parents. This planned curriculum will include lesson plans created by and vetted by educators, and since the passing of “Don’t Say Gay” here in Florida has become more important than ever.
This year’s Leather Masked Ball will be held in the Crystal Ballroom at The Venue (on the back side of The Manor). Entertainment will include sets by DJ Aulden Brown, DJ Daniel Kristopherre, and a special show by Damien Lenore. While the event is themed as a leather masquerade ball, as a charity event there is no dress code to attend. While the event is 21 and up, everyone is welcome, no matter your gender, status in the community, sexuality, or experience with leather or fetish. The Lambda Men’s Brotherhood is an organization that celebrates and welcomes everyone who wants to do good for the community and strives to continue a legacy of gay philanthropy.
If you wish to attend this year’s Leather Masked Ball, tickets can be purchased in advance at LMBFTL.org. Tickets are $39 in advance, or $55 at the door. If you wish to support the Lambda Men’s Brotherhood but are not able to attend, you can donate directly at the website, or you can go to smile.amazon.com and select the Lambda Men’s Brotherhood as a beneficiary. The Lambda Men’s Brotherhood is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
