Last year, after arriving in Washington as Ohio’s junior Senator, J.D. Vance spent a year blocking State Department ambassadorial nominations over their “woke” and pro-LGBTQ policies. In April, he sent a questionnaire to over 30 nominees, probing their views on different topics like diversity, equity, inclusion measures, gender-neutral bathrooms, Pride flag displays, and gender-affirming care. A memo obtained by the Washington Post highlights Vance’s strong opposition to these ideologies and his goal to eliminate them from U.S. government policy domestically and internationally.
