NSU Art Museum presents Creativity Exploration: Light & Change from Noon to 1:30pm. Inspired by the colorful work of Rachel B. Hayes, create your own art that explores the beauty of light and color. Discover and play with shapes and unusual materials that can change and respond to light and merge in interesting ways. Creativity Exploration adult workshops promote the benefits of material exploration and the mind-to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler, a specialist in mindfulness education. Preregistration Required at Nsuartmuseum.org, as space is limited. Noche Latina Saturdays at the Manor Complex introduces their new line-up in the Latin Room. They are elevating to a whole new level as they introduce their new hostess: MARYTRINI. In addition, they have upgraded their sound system and have new lights and a new dance floor. They will also feature multiple Latin drag shows and sexy Latin dancers starting at 11:30pm. DJ Joshua Atom spins salsa, merengue, reggaeton, bachata, Latin House, etc. Doors open at 11pm and there is NO COVER for Florida residents until midnight. The GFLGLCC (Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce) presents their September Mixer at Plunge Beach Resort (4660 El mar Drive, Lauderdale By the Sea) from 5:30 to 7pm. The Broward Center for the Performing Arts presents Out Comedian Matteo Lane with 2 shows at 6:30 and 9:30pm. Named one of Variety’s Top Ten Comics to Watch amassing over 1.5 million followers on social media, standup comedian Matteo Lane performs to sold out crowds all over the world. He has shared the stage with the likes of Chelsea Handler, Aziz Ansari, Hasan Minhaj, and Bob the Drag Queen.
