Onya Nurve Snatches the Crown of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17 has officially crowned its queen — and what a ride it’s been! In a historic finale that aired on MTV, the top four queens — Jewels Sparkles, Lexi Love, Onya Nurve, and Sam Star — lit up the newly revamped mainstage, each gunning for that $200,000 prize and the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.

Jewels Sparkles kicked off the night with a cheeky, laugh-out-loud performance, showing once again that she’s a queen with comedy and heart. Lexi Love skated through a dazzling routine, backed by her chosen family in the audience. Then came Onya Nurve, who lived up to her name — dripping in charisma, uniqueness, Nurve, and talent. Her supportive parents melted hearts across America.

Sam Star closed the performance lineup with a sparkly, soulful number, giving us all the feels — and proving she was born to shine. Then came the moment: Jewels Sparkles and Onya Nurve in a fierce lip sync to Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.” Fans screamed. Glitter flew. And in the end, Onya Nurve snatched the crown! Having won four maxi challenges — including the Snatch Game and stand-up comedy — Onya was a frontrunner all season. And now, she takes her rightful place in Mama Ru’s Queendom. Congratulations to the whole cast, and especially to Onya — America’s Next Drag Superstar! And don’t forget — RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 hits Paramount+ on Friday, May 9.
