Yes, the same Trump Tower owned by the man whose administration stripped LGBTQ protections, erased queer history from national platforms, and banned Pride flags from embassies. Tickets to this NYC event, priced at $175, promise open bars, appetizers, and maybe a glimpse of gay MAGA darlings like Ric Grenell or George Santos. While drag queens and queer kids are under attack, these GOP conservatives will be sipping cosmos in the skyscraper.
Last month, the official Log Cabin Republicans’ Twitter account re-shared a New York Times article about brands pulling back sponsorship on New York Pride. The tweet said,
“The gig is up. Companies no longer want to be part of the radical Leftist, Democrat, anti-Trump, gender-theory-obsessed ideological display that Pride has become. America is healing.”
So let’s recap: they bash Pride, beg to be included, and wave Pride flags while backing policies that burn them. So Pride is bad, and Pride Right is good? That seems to be the celebration at Trump Tower with the Log Cabin Republicans to celebrate the June 28 Stonewall Riots that took place just 3 miles away in 1969. Happy Pride.
