In a historic celebration of Pride Month, Air Canada has taken inclusivity to new heights—literally. The airline launched its first-ever flight staffed entirely by queer crew, marking a groundbreaking moment in Canadian aviation.
The flight, proudly shared on Air Canada’s social media, was described as “Our first all-2SLGBTQIA+ flight was a heartfelt celebration reflecting our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and equality, in the air and on the ground.”
For context, the “2S” in the acronym stands for Two-Spirit—an identity held by some Indigenous North Americans who occupy a unique, traditional third-gender role in their communities.
In the video, airline Captain Maciej shared, “It was a bit of a range of emotions coming here and getting dressed for this flight.”
The historic flight began with the pilot playfully welcoming passengers with RuPaul’s famous line: “Shantay, you all stay.”
For U.S. LGBTQ viewers, this landmark moment in Canada’s skies is more than a celebration—it’s a powerful reminder of what inclusive visibility can look like when backed by corporate action.
