A four-foot-tall “gay” robot rocking rainbow armbands, a tutu, and a cowboy hat has taken the streets of West Hollywood by storm—and LGBTQ Angelenos are living for it.
Dubbed Jake the Rizzbot, the humanoid android was seen vibing through Santa Monica Boulevard, decked out in Pride Progress flags and even a cheeky sticker reading, “Not Elon’s Bitch.”
Clips show the robot flirting with onlookers—asking, “Can I take you out for dinner?”—before playing the iconic sax riff from George Michael’s Careless Whisper. In one viral clip, it zips through crowds, tossing playful insults and smooth pickup lines with equal flair. The robot is a G1 Humanoid Agent, created by Chinese tech company Unitree Robotics, and valued at $16,000. While it uses AI to interact, it isn’t autonomous.
It’s remotely controlled by someone nearby. Unitree says the bot’s features include “dexterous hands” and “reinforcement learning.” Battery life is around two hours—enough for a fierce catwalk through WeHo. But not everyone’s a fan. Far-right voices have condemned the robot as part of a so-called “woke agenda,” with one user asking, “Great, what’s next? A trans robot?”
We do not know who dressed up the droid or why they made it tour Los Angeles and Austin. But one thing’s certain: he’s serving looks and pride, and we love it.
