Frankenstein Fans to Gather at Fort Lauderdale Beach, August 30

Fort Lauderdale Beach will transform into a spooky seaside cinema on Saturday, August 30, as fans gather to celebrate World Frankenstein Day under the stars. The event will kick off at 7:30 PM, across from Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, with a candlelit beach picnic and potluck. Films will roll at 8 PM, featuring the iconic classics Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935).

Depending on the night’s energy, Son of Frankenstein may also make an appearance. Organizers will invite guests to bring blankets, chairs, snacks, and themed potluck dishes, from bacon-inspired bites to marshmallow mummies. In honor of World Toasted Marshmallow Day, World Beach Day, and World Bacon Day, a special s’mores station with a chef’s torch will delight sweet and savory fans alike.

The evening will also feature a lively Frankenstein costume contest, with prizes for best monster, scientist, and bride looks. Early birds may arrive at 6:30 PM to help set up. More information is available online.
