Legendary Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani, known worldwide as Valentino, has died at the age of 93, his foundation confirmed in a breaking news update. In a statement on Instagram, the Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti Foundation said Valentino died on January 19, peacefully in his Roman home, surrounded by the love of his family. Valentino co-founded his iconic fashion house in Rome in 1960 with his business and personal partner Giancarlo Giammetti, shaping decades of global style. He will lie in state in Rome ahead of a funeral on Friday.
