    New York State Senate Just Got a Lot Gayer

    American politician Erik Bottcher has been sworn in as New York State’s newest senator after winning a special election on February 3, taking office February 4. The former New York City Council member represented Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, and Times Square before running to replace Brad Hoylman-Sigal in the 47th District. Celebrating the moment, Democratic Senator Jabari Brisport posted, “The NY State Senate is now twice as gay. Welcome to Albany, Senator.”
