The posts target well-known allies like Cher, Pink, and Pedro Pascal, using fabricated quotes and images to push disinformation. One viral example shows Cher beside Donald Trump, where she says, “Let’s be honest. Donald Trump is a tough man.
He can be brash, outspoken, and unapologetic. But in my lifetime, no one has fought harder for the heart and soul of America.” Some users quickly called the content fake, but others appeared convinced, amplifying the posts further. Another circulating claim alleges Mick Jagger made anti-LGBTQ statements. Experts note these posts are part of coordinated disinformation—false content deliberately created to influence public opinion. Parent company Meta recently scaled back fact-checking efforts, raising concerns about rising anti-LGBTQ narratives online.
