One Million Moms Targets Dr. Squatch Ads Featuring Bisexual Actress Megan Fox

One Million Moms, a division of the anti-LGBTQ+ organization American Family Association, is urging supporters to pressure Dr. Squatch to pull its Megan Fox-led deodorant commercials, calling the campaign “vulgar” and “highly inappropriate.” The complaint focuses on the company’s 30-second Glide Test ad and other commercials in the same series featuring out Bi actress Megan Fox.

In its petition, One Million Moms claimed the ads contain highly suggestive and offensive sexual innuendos, while describing Fox as “provocatively dressed in a figure-hugging, all-black leather ensemble.” The campaign casts Fox as a professor from F.O.X., or the Foundation for Odour Excellence, promoting Dr. Squatch products to men. The ads end with the tagline: “Let your stick do the talking,” referring to deodorant sticks.

One Million Moms petition says that this type of advertising is unnecessary, and that the company “has deliberately chosen to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones.” The petition also urges parents to boycott the brand until the commercials are removed. The group has also frequently opposed LGBTQ-inclusive advertising campaigns featuring lesbian couples, gay male couples, and non-binary celebrities. As of Wednesday morning, the petition reportedly had more than 8K signatures.
