The popular gay sports romance Waterboy is returning with a second season on ReelShort. Titled Waterboy: Second Down, the vertical drama premiered June 16, and reunites stars Declan Clifford and Sky Kawai. The sequel follows former lovers Kaden and Donovan three years after their breakup. According to the official synopsis, “Three years after Kaden broke Donovan’s heart to protect his NFL dreams, superstar quarterback Donovan Miller is back and signed with the agency where Kaden is barely surviving as an intern.” The series marks ReelShort’s first true sequel and continues the growing popularity of LGBTQ+ stories in the mobile-first vertical drama format.
