The talent shows at JJ’s are simply not to be missed! Every week, as the word spreads they are even more incredible than the week before! Recently there were 4 contestants: a modern dancer, a standup comic, a violin player and a singer. The winner, hands down, was the violinist. After the contest everybody heads over to The Ybor Social/Eagle. This is a very busy night packed with fun party people. It’s easy to see why Thursdays have become our favorite night of the week!

Happy birthday to Hamburger Mary’s co-owner Kurt! In the true party guy spirit, Kurt performed as Miss Kurtrina last Friday night! The audience simply went WILD! Not one, but two birthday cakes in the shapes of hamburgers were presented. Then a challenge was made. The other owner, Michael to perform in drag too on his birthday! Challenge accepted but kicked up a huge notch – he was supposed to perform with Shannel from “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” MacaViti, Power Infiniti, Robyn DeMornay and Apheelia Breast!

Last week we had the first full day of work on the new MC Film in Gulfport. Out came the power washers and paint brushes. After an exhausting 12 hour day we headed across the street to Domain for a few adult beverages that included ice cold draft beer. Here we quickly made friends with not one, but two Bonnie’s and a very large and friendly poodle named Bently. Much to our delight as we were leaving there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky. What an incredible magical ending for our first whole day in Gulfport! New friends and “Fairy Blessings” on our new home!

People Are Talking

A fist fight broke out in the back of Tom Arnold’s private limousine on the way back from Manilow’s last week. When the party arrived at Valentine’s Nightclub the fight resumed in the parking lot. All this over, what else, but a hot young guy! Hum…. we wonder what became of the hot guy? Sharon Rose has been very busy creating new wearable art. Stop by and visit her store Wear Me Out in Centro Ybor. Talk about WOW bands… Check out Play Ybor and The Crowbar! They are both located on 17th Ave. and 8th directly across the street from each other! The party in the street is incredible, too. Congratulations to Cory, who is now bartending at G.BAR, and to Morgan, who is now bartending at Hamburger Mary’s!
