You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up!
This is what NOT to say to your bartender. A couple walked up to the bar and both appeared to have been drinking. The woman started to make vulgar remarks about a neighboring bar. I asked, “What happened? Why were they so mean to you?” She actually said, “Those MF’ers actually told me to leave. Just because I threw up all over their bathroom! NOW, give me a MFing strong drink, NOW!” Hmm…they both got ice water.
Tampa Pride Launch Party
Last week was the very successful Tampa Pride Launch Party at City Side. Over 300 well wishers passed through City Side that night. Still excited from the success of the launch party, Tampa Pride attended their first big planning meeting with the City of Tampa this week! Visit tampapride.org for more details.
Goodbye, Georgie’s Alibi
This past week, we all said a sad goodbye to Georgie’s Alibi in St. Petersburg. Open for 15 years, this establishment was the hub of the St. Petersburg LGBT community. It will be very much missed.
New T-Dance Opening
The District 3 Arts & Events center will begin to host Sunday T-Dances. The preview reception will be on October 4th, with the grand opening on October 11th. Many of us remember this location for the gay bars that were here in the past, including The Parthenon, The Garage and The Factory. On our private tour, we found that everything inside is new, featuring the latest in technology and fun! Congratulations to Gary and the staff. facebook.com/DistrictTea
