Hillsborough County Residents Unite Against Bullying Candlelight Vigil

Last Sunday we gathered in solidarity against bullying in Hillsborough County and hold a candlelight vigil down 7th Ave. in Ybor City to honor the memory of all our young gay teens who recently committed suicide and/or are presently being bullied in schools. People wore purple in remembrance. Organizers included MCC Tampa, Pride Tampa Bay, SOCR, Hillsborough GLBT Democratic Caucus, GaYBOR District, Equality Florida, Gay American Heroes, GSA’s in Tampa and Interfaith Coalition.

People are Talking

Kim Magic announced the opening of her new club at 900 N. Dale Mabry. AlandChuck.travel’s first Pride Cruise was way over the top to the delight of the non-gay passengers! See all the photos at FaceBook.com/ALandCHUCK.travel. One of the Housewives of GaYBOR was in Atlanta kicking up her heels…and we do mean kicking up! Rumors are that some of the cast members of “The A List” TV show could be making stops in GaYBOR soon! After week #3 the new club RISE is still going strong. Check it out this Sunday to see what everybody is talking about. In what looked like a scene from the “Drew Cary Show,” The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence met “Rocky Horror” at the Ritz in Ybor. In a brilliant or accidental scheduling, both events were in the Ritz at the same time in separate rooms. You know this didn’t last long! Yes, the Sisters were doing the “Time Warp!”

Hamburger Mary’s

Last week Ongina from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” performed to a packed house. Thursday at the talent contest the judges had quite the fight! Sad news from Hamburger Mary’s this week: owner Kurt King’s grandfather passed away in Michigan.

G.BAR Clowns & Stars

We counted 28 life-like clowns throughout G.Bar for the Clowns theme night. All the bartenders and dancers were also dressed clown-ish! There were people walking around G.Bar making balloon art and popcorn with scary things crawling out of it! Later in the night the audience was delighted to meet YouTube star Craigery Morgan. His YouTube video “Surprise Party” has over 5 million hits! We both agreed Craigery is even hotter in person, if that’s possible.
