DJ Eddie Elias heats up Winter Party
DJ Eddie Elias has been whipping clubs into a frenzy since his debut in 2000. The New Jersey-based, Dominican-born deejay will bring his hot sound to Winter Party’s After-Glow Party on March 7. Hotspots caught up with Elias to find out what to expect.
HOTSPOTS MAGAZINE: Is this your first time spinning at Winter Party?
DJ EDDIE ELIAS: No, it’s actually not my first time playing Winter Party. I’ve played it back in 2007. I am very excited that I’m part of this year’s lineup and hopefully I will continue to be part of it each year.
Describe your style.
My style is more of the cutting-edge underground sound with high energy vocals and some classics. It’s definitely not the circuit sound, but it does grasp the crowd when I’m educating them the “Elias Style” (laughs).
What do you like about coming to Miami?
Well, I love Miami for the weather, of course! But besides the weather, which is beautiful mostly all the time, I also have a special part of it in my heart since it was one of the first places where my career got started besides Fire Island. Back in 2001-02 I was playing for Hilton Wolman and Club Salvation which at the time I had monthly residencies at ,but now I’m exclusive to one club in Miami – which is Score – and is the only Hotspot in Miami Beach that’s still going strong thanks to Billy and Luis and staff.
What should the crowd expect to hear?
The crowd can expect to hear my cutting-edge underground sound, a lot of my personal edits and original tracks that are soon to be released and also a journey that wouldn’t be forgotten.
What makes you different from other deejays?
I bring fresh, top-notch beats to my audience — music you won’t hear anywhere else but at my party.
