Week 7 in Season 4 of Rupaul’s Drag Race was the design your own magazine cover challenge. There were 7 different themes with the exotic Phi Phi O’Hara winning the challenge and Willam and Jiggly Caliente in the bottom 2. After Willam gave a real country girl performance it was Jiggly who sashayed away.
At what age did female impersonation become an interest?
When I turned 19, because I started going to the club and I said “ooooh” that looks like fun. The first club I went to was Krash and I saw how beautiful the girls were and thought I want to do that.
How did you pick your name?
It started off as Jiggly Puff because I wanted to be like a Pokémon, and I decided I wasn’t that comical and since I am a sexy big bitch I changed it to Jiggly Caliente.
How did you go about getting on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Tell me about the experience?
Manilla Luzon talked me into auditioning as she said the world needs to see who Jiggly is. I auditioned at the last moment and boom I got it.
Being on the west coast was odd for me as I had never travelled on my own.
When I got there it was an amazing experience as the staff treated us with respect.
Who do you want to win?
I want Latrice Royale to win because I think she emulates a lot of positive qualities that a queen should have! If it couldn’t be Latrice, then I would like Sharon Needles, because she is a breath of fresh air that America has not seen. She brings a funny quirky personality that is endearing.
Tell me about the man behind Jiggly Caliente?
Paulo is a big geek; he is a big nerd and loves comic books and video games.
Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you.
Like I said above, that I am the biggest geek ever! I am addicted to Sci-fi stuff. Also, I have every Disney movie ever. I collect them. It’s my guilty pleasure.
What’s ahead for Jiggly Caliente?
Maybe a single, but it will be a rap song. Other great things are happening, but I can’t talk about it as I don’t want to jinx it! However, I think Jiggly should have her own dating show as I need a husband and it should be called “For the Love of Jiggly, Drag Me to Love.”
