This week started out with the news that Arturo, one of the original owners of Azucar, had bought it back from the owners of Club Sugar and the location is changing back to Azucar. Although the sale has already gone through we hear that big changes are happening! Saturday morning/afternoon was the 22nd annual Poverello Bowl-a-thon at Sawgrass lanes where many teams bowled to raise money for this worthy cause. In the beginning of the event it was announced that over $10,000 had been raised with more coming in. The exact total wasn’t available at press time. Saturday night 2 big events happened around South Florida. The first was in Miami where Discotekka presented Waterworks 6.0 to a packed house having fun in the foam. At The Manor Complex in Fort Lauderdale they were celebrating 2 birthdays. In the Latin Lounge and patio it was diva Champagne Bordeaux’s birthday and in the main room they were celebrating DJ Kidd Madonny’s birthday. The club was packed in all the rooms and the decorations were over the top; it was amazing! Sunday also featured 2 events; The 1 year anniversary of Tag Bar, the only gay bar in Delray and the Palace had candidate David Richardson, the only openly gay candidate running for State Representative.

Temperatures rise and so does the drama as Bravo Media hits the beach when “The Real Housewives of Miami” premieres with a supersized 75-miniute episode on Thursday, September 13th at 10pm.  Returning Housewives Lea Black, Adriana de Moura and Marysol Patton are joined this season by socialite Lisa Hochstein, supermodel Joanna Krupa, successful lawyer and chef Ana Quincoces and celebrity dentist Karent Sierra. Also returning in a recurring role is Alexia Echevarria, who made her son Frankie’s rehabilitation from a bad automobile accident earlier this year her main priority. Season two gives viewers an inside look into the aspirational lives of seven women as they juggle family, work and a spicy social scene in the hottest city in the world.  Whether shopping on Ocean Drive or out on the town in South Beach these ladies prove that in Miami, the skirts are short and so are the tempers.
