In the end Denise Brown was 2nd runner up, Victoria Grantty was 1st runner up and the 1st Miss Solare Coliseum is Maite West. Congrats to Maite, all the contestants…

In the end Denise Brown was 2nd runner up, Victoria Grantty was 1st runner up and the 1st Miss Solare Coliseum is Maite West. Congrats to Maite, all the contestants as well as Marytrini and the entire staff of Solare Coliseum for a fabulous pageant. On Thursday the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force invited everyone to the official Miami Recognition Dinner “Sparkle” Preview Party hosted by famed drag queen Daisy Deadpetals at South Beach hotspot Q Lounge. Guests were treated to a complimentary open bar courtesy of 42 BELOW Vodka and light bites by Q Lounge. Friday night Dudes featured a fashion show for 4 Men and Miguel’s with no cover and sexy dance manager Gerard as the host. On Saturday evening the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force had a benefit event at the home of Dr. Russell Sassani & Michael Schneider. This event was produced to teach people more about what theNGLTFdoes and to meet Task Force Board of Directors and Executive Director Rea Carey. On Sunday was the annual LeatherAuctionat Scandalswhichis a benefit for the Leather Masked Ball. This event was lots of fun with the models donating their timetoraisemoneyfor this great cause.

Friday, September 21

Filthy Gorgeous Fridays at Score celebrates the release of Pink, The Truth About Love, which includes the explosive hit single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss).” The nights stars DJ Willy G, is hosted by the Penny Back Boyz and features a special performance by Erika Norell.

 

The Ramrod presents their monthly Muscle Bear Man Dance starring DJ/Producer Herbie James.

 

Twist will feature special guest DJ Deanne spinning tonight till 5am!

 

Bubble Gum Fridays at the Manor presents a tribute to Gwen Stephani.

Organizing For America (President Obama’s campaign organization) will be having a Voters Registration event at Alibi‘s 6-9 pm and Bill’s 9pm-12am, where they will be: registering voters, updating voter registrations with address changes and enrolling voters in Vote By Mail.

Saturday, September 22

Discotekka in association with Milancita.com, Alex Infiniti and Miami Gay Blog celebrates the birthday of their house diva Vegas with a special party entitled Blast Off. The night will feature DJ Billy Lace with performances by TP Lords and Gina D’Angelo.

 

Noche Latina Saturdays at The Manor in the Ivy Lounge and Patio presents the official victory party for Puerto Rican, Angel Saez winning Mr. Continental 2013. In the Epic Room they present “Almost Heaven” starring DJ Michael Tank. 10:30 pm to 4 am with No Cover.

The Brotherhood, a new group formed to throw events to raise money for charity, presents their first day events. From 1 to 6 pm they feature a pool party at Bootleggers (3033 NE 32nd Ave) featuring host Joe Soler and DJs Doug Jackson and Roke Cabrera. Then from 10 pm to 3 am they feature a dance party at Wilton Bier Garden starring DJ Alex Ramos. 100% of all proceeds from these 2 events to benefit AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

 

Sunday, September 23

Smarty Pants ends their 9th anniversary weekend celebration with a full day of events starting with the Flamingo Auto Group Classic Car Show from noon to 4 pm with a free BBQ. Then from 3 pm to 7 pm they feature Karaoke and at 8 pm they will feature the drawing for the Las Vegas Trip (must be present to win).

Sidelines Sports Bar is partnering with the grass roots organization, Live Free Be Strong, to support empowerment through education and to raise awareness to stop the ever-growing number of bullying incidents affecting our community. Sidelines and LFBS are staging a series of sporting tournaments to help raise these funds for LFBS Smart Ride team. The “Live Free Be Strong Olympics” hosted by Sidelines Sports Bar, will include tournaments in Poker, Pool, and Darts, all taking place during the months of September and October, all before the ride. The Tournament Schedule is: Mondays – Poker Tournament at 8 pm. every other Wednesday – Pool Tournament at 7 pm and every other Saturday – Dart Tournament at 2:30 pm. Buy-in amounts, LFBS proceeds, and winner’s prizes will be announced at the beginning of each tournament. More vulgar and revealing than “Sordid Life”, “Sordid Confessions” features Del telling all about his experiences in show business, his home life, and much more.  Del del-ivers viewers from evil in this raunchy confessional that will have all types of viewers laughing through tears. Del Shores is a writer, producer, director, activist, and comic. His career took off with the 1987 hit play “Daddy’s Dyin’” (Who’s Got the Will) and the subsequent 1990 film. He is best known for his 1996 play Sordid Lives which became a film in 1999 and later gave birth to an acclaimed 2008 Logo series. His other plays include Southern Baptist Sissies, The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife, and most recently Yellow, which won him the Los Angeles Drama Critics Association Awards for Best Production and Best World Premiere. He recently completed his new film “Blues for Willadean“, staring Beth Grant, Octavia Spencer, Dale Dickey, David Steen, and Debbie Holiday due out in late 2012.
