Small Business Spotlight: Mojo’s celebrates two years of pampering their customers!
By: Scott Holland
When I walked into Mojo’s Barbershop (2348 Wilton Drive) the first thing I saw (besides the very sexy hairstylists) were the black and white tiled floor and the old school barber chairs that immediately transported me back to childhood and rekindled all the fun memories I used to have going to the barbershop with my dad.
I sat down with Mojo’s owner, Joe Sansome, who informed me that he is a third-generation barber.
When he found the location that Mojo’s is at he at first was fearful that it may be too big, but then realized that he needed the space as he wanted a place where friends and neighbors could congregate, again bringing that old New York style flavor to the mix.
I then asked Joe how the business is different from what he expected when he opened two years ago and he said “I did not think the business would grow as fast as it did. It is so nice to see my community being loyal.”
At Mojo’s Barbershop their philosophy is the customer gets 100% service for a very fair price. They have six full time barbers and one full time Aesthetician. They do all kinds of cuts including military cuts, flat tops, designs, etc. and haircuts start at $18. The also do a luxurious hot towel shave for $25 which takes 35 to 40 minutes and includes a scalp and face massage. Their manicures are $15; pedicures are $35, and facials are $50.
Mojo’s Barbershop will be celebrating their second anniversary on Saturday, July 27th by giving FREE (yes, I said FREE) haircuts, manicures, pedicures and hot towel shaves. That day only there will be no appointments and it will be on a first come, first served basis. They will also have a free BBQ as well as beverages.
Mojo’s is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Sundays and Mondays). For more information call 954-566-1350.
