Halloween was such a success all over south Florida, from nightclubs to Street festivals. This week I will let the pics do the talking as my brain is still checked out…LOL!!

 

 

 

Thursday, November 7

Adams Interiors (3900 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale) presents the 4th annual “An Evening of Elegance,” which is a benefit for Hospice by the Sea from 6-9pm. The event will feature live music by Atlantis, Magician performances, raffles, complimentary Hors D’oeuvres and wine and a fabulous silent auction.

SunServe’s 10th Annual LGBT Quality Care Conference taking place today and tomorrow.  The Volen Center has chosen to award David Fawcett, Ph.D., L.C.S.W. the Valuing Our Families Professional Award (given to him on the 8th). Registration for the conference on offering LGBT Care to clients, patients and customers is still open at regonline.com/qualitycare2013.

The Stable presents Korn Queen Pageant 2013, an official Bubba’s Country Fair event, at 9pm. The pageant will be hosted by the reigning Korn Queen Raejean Cox with a special guest appearance by Candy Cornhole Cox.

Friday, November 8

Tom Bazinet, a/k/a “Tiki Tom” will transform the ActivistArtistA Gallery (422 West Industrial Ave.Boynton Beach) into eco-conscience environment in “One Man’s Trash.”  The outsider artist who travels throughout the coast collecting media (trash) for his art in a relic encrusted van, has gained much recognition as of late. With a public art commission earlier this year from the City of Boynton Beach, and now his eco-awareness installation at the gallery Tom is taking his ‘outsider art” inside. A tree trimmer, and tree hugger Tom has been rescuing limbs and turning them into ornamental “Tikis” for quite some time.  He has been transforming debris such as coconuts, broken dolls, and even haz-mat waste from on our shores into sacred totems and objects d’art that can be found in many collections throughout the USA. The opening reception starts at 7pm and the exhibit goes through December 20th.

Saturday, November 9

The Manor presents Mount Olympus, their 4 year anniversary theme party starring recording artist Kristine W live on stage in the ballroom. In addition there will be a spectacular performance by Erika Norell and cast, DJ Monty Q, and hot go-go gods. In the Latin room and Patio, Noche Latina Saturdays presents, back by popular demand and direct from Puerto Rico, Lorna Vando with hostess Viva Mirage and the sounds of DJ Larry Larr. Doors open at 10:30 pm with no cover.

Scandals Saloon presents the 6th annual Bubba’s Country Fair today and tomorrow featuring games, entertainment, food and lots of contests. For more info go to ScandalsFLA.com

Discotekka presents, in honor of veterans Weekend, a military ball entitled “Dream Makers” in honor of the USA soldiers. The night will star DJs Renn, Tony and Carlos G with divas Poizon, Sasha, Serena, Gina, Maite, Monica and Lola.

The first stop for Spain’s new international traveling exhibition is Miami, where
Tapas – Spanish Design for Food makes its U.S. premiere tonight and goes through Dec 15
(including Art Basel Week), at The Moore Building in Miami’s Design District. Honoring the 500th anniversary of Juan Ponce de León’s arrival in Florida, the exhibition is curated by designer/architect Juli Capella and is presented by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), promoting Spanish culture and heritage worldwide. Co-presenters are The Centro Cultural Español en Miami (CCE Miami), SPAIN arts & culture and the España Florida Foundation. The show encompasses 8,000 square feet with more than 200 exhibits, displays and installations by Spanish chefs, designers, architects, wineries and restaurants spanning the last 25 years of Spain’s avant-garde experimental blending of design and food.

The South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble presents “All’s Fair in Love and War” at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center For The Performing Arts at 7 pm. Tickets are available at BrowardCenter.org.
