Last Tuesday was the monthly Mack Mixer at Solitas Las Olas and as usual it was a busy networker. Later that night it was off to the Village Pub for the start of Show Tunes Tuesdays, where I heard lots of my favorite show tunes (hey, I am a gay boy from New York City, so show tunes are in my blood).

On Thursday night there were 2 fundraisers in Fort Lauderdale. The first was a benefit for The Stonewall Museum and Archives and featured Megan Mullally live at the Parker Playhouse and was a sold out performance. Miss Mullally was wonderful and extremely gracious in the Meet and Greet afterwards. This is an entertainer that truly appreciates her gay fans. The second was a benefit for Pride South Florida at Sidelines. It was a Casino theme and a few thousand dollars was raised. Congrats to the entire board of Pride and a special kudos to Corrie Boyd who spearheaded this event! Also that night, the MDGLCC featured a social networker event at Lucky Strike Lanes entitled “Rainbowling.” What a great concept, to network and also have fun! This past weekend was the annual F.L.I.R.T Bowling Tournament Kick with pre and post parties in many of the bars.

Also this weekend was the Miami Art Deco Open XIX which was hosted by the Miami Mavericks Tennis Club. Friday night the Ramrod presented their monthly Mandance with DJ Herbie James. On Saturday B.I.G Productions presented the main event for Bear Invasion Weekend at Hunters which featured DJ Sean Mac of Atlanta spinning for all the bears to enjoy. On Saturday Discotekka celebrated the birthday of one of its managers, Danny Villar. On Sunday was the final day of Angels Café (sad) and Bill’s celebrated the hostess of its Trannie Palace Sundays, Misty Eyez.
