On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay-Z

Arguably music’s biggest power couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z will be embarking on a national tour together for the very first time, and South Florida gets to see them first. The “On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay-Z,” in partnership with #BeyGood benefiting the Shawn Carter Foundation, will be starting at Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m.

Between the two, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have sold over 300 million records worldwide and have earned 36 Grammy Awards. This time, they are not only promoting themselves, but also their philanthropies. A dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to the Shawn Carter Foundation to support students. VIP ticket package purchases will also have a portion of their sales donated to the Shawn Carter Foundation.

The mission of the Shawn Carter Foundation is to help people who have suffered economic hardships further their education at institutions of higher learning across the country. The people who have been awarded scholarships by this foundation are diverse and have dealt with setbacks in the past such as teen pregnancy, homelessness, previous arrests, abuse, poverty, and gang membership. The Shawn Carter Foundation hopes that every student can earn their second chance and can turn their lives around for the better. Services offered by the foundation include college tours, study abroad opportunities, counseling and aftercare, and holiday toy and meal drives for children.

#BeyGood is Beyoncé’s personal philanthropic endeavor, which inspires people to be kind and participate positively in their local communities. Fans are encouraged to donate their time and money to causes that are dear to their hearts. Since starting this initiative, over two million people have raised awareness and resources for various causes and charities.
