Fairwinds Broadway in Orlando Announces 2015/2016 Season at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, together with Florida Theatrical Association and Broadway Across America®, has unveiled the lineup of shows for the 2015/2016 FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando season. Filled with Tony Award®-winning hits and remarkable family favorites, the 2015/2016 season kicks off with Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, a lush new production that features a contemporary take on the classic tale. The season also includes the holiday favorite Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, a brand new production of the timeless classic The Sound of Music and the six-time Tony Award®-winning smash hit Kinky Boots. Rounding out the Season at the Dr. Phillips Center is the worldwide phenomenon Dirty Dancing–The Classic Story on Stage, and the remarkable true story musical hit Beautiful–The Carole King Musical. A new addition to the schedule is the visual sensation Stomp.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical

December 8 –13, 2015

is the record-setting Broadway holiday sensation which features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the original animated special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday-loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville and helps remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season. The Sound of Music

January 5 –10, 2016

Stomp

Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.
