The Pride Center at Equality Park’s 5th Annual Community Day

Saturday, October 24

TPrideCenter-Comm-Day_flyerhe Pride Center at Equality Park loves reaching out to the local community, and each year, ThePride Center’s “community day” proves to be fun for everyone. Come on down and see why everyone loves this yearly event. The fifth annual Pride Center Community Day will be held on Saturday, October 24, in front of their main offices, located at 2040 N. Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors. This all-ages event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Whether you’re young or old, single or married, with children or without, join The Pride Center for an afternoon of entertaining activities. Bring your pet and dress him or her up in the cutest outfit possible because there will be a pet costume contest, with a prize given to the winner! There is also going to be a costume contest for children, and many parents find it fun to dress up with their little ones. Afterwards, children will have the chance to play in the Equality Park playground, which will be open for them all day today.

If you’ve ever wondered how the police department works with its special K9 dogs, you can learn about the special bond the officers have with their best friends at the K9 demonstration area. The police department’s bomb squad will also be on hand to show you the job they do. Police vehicles and fire trucks (some sleek, some funky!) will be on display for people to view up-close. Have a bite to eat too: there will be hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, and much more served.

Hotspots Media Group is proud to be a supporter of The Pride Center and its annual community day. The Pride Center celebrates over 20 years of top-notch work, dedication and devotion to the thousands of people in the local LGBT community who utilize the Center’s services each year.
