A week ago Monday, The Boardwalk presented their 3rd annual “Pink Bra Auction,” which once again was a benefit for the Susan G Komen foundation and featured a silent auction, and a live auction to bid on bling-ed out bras donated and modeled by some of South Florida’s famous bar personal and business owners. As usual, this was a fun event. On Wednesday, Broward House’s Smart Ride Team, “Give A Shift” presented a 70’s Disco Dance Party at Hunters that featured a dance and best dress contest, which was hosted by Alexis Couture. On Saturday afternoon, there were 2 events in Fort Lauderdale, the first was the fifth annual Pride Center Community Day which was held in front of their main offices and celebrated the entire community. The second was the Pet Project for Pets Paws 4 Paws, 2nd annual Twilight Pet Walkathon. The theme of the walkathon was Super Heroes and Friends and also featured a costume contest for pets. Congrats to Sue and Rose for putting on such a great event! On Saturday night was the annual Miami Recognition Dinner which was presented by the National LGBTQ Task Force at the Sparkle Ballroom at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Once again, this amazing event was sold out. Every year this is an incredible event to be at, but this year it was even better, as my very good friend, Josue Santiago proposed to his now fiancé, Matt Dzwonkiewicz on stage. It was a moment that moved the entire audience!

In The Grayscale is a sensitive, well-acted romantic drama that puts a delicate and mature twist
When we first encounter successful 35-year-old Bruno (Francisco Celhay), he has just made the difficult decision to separate from his loving wife in order to sort through his feelings. His concerned family calls it a selfish choice, and the couple’s young son is understandably confused and hurt by his doting dad’s decision to leave, but their familial bond appears strong. After Bruno is approached to design a new architectural landmark, he is introduced to Fer (Emilio Edwards), a local tour guide with unique access to the soul of Santiago’s gorgeous cityscape, both ancient and modern. This professional hookup quickly turns to flirtation and much more, complicated by the undeniable chemistry—intellectual and physical—between the handsome leads.
The grayscale of the film’s title exists between the old world and the new, certainty and doubt, straight and gay. Is Bruno gay or bisexual? Is he confused or incapable of commitment? The answers turn out to be not so black-and-white. In his assured feature film debut, director Claudio Marcone reveals new and surprising depths in a midlife coming-out tale by focusing on fine-grained emotional shadings.
In The Grayscale is available from WolfeVideo.com for only $24.95
