Stonewall National Museum – Wilton Manors (2157 Wilton Drive) The Sea Is Quiet Tonight by Michael Ward – Author Presentation at 7 pm. In this insightful and inspirational memoir, Michael Ward returns to the early years of the AIDS epidemic, when so little was known and so few who were diagnosed survived. He chronicles in candid detail his partner Mark’s decline and eventual death. By looking back on these devastating events, the author not only honors a generation lost to the illness but also opens a vital window onto the past, before medication helped save lives and when HIV/AIDS was usually a death sentence. Signed copies will be available for sale. Light refreshments provided courtesy of Barefoot Wine and Bubbly.

Writer/director Armand Petri says: “Undetectable is a different type of HIV/AIDS movie. The film portrays functional HIV positive individuals that are not victims, and that are not afraid to be seen as anti-heroes. I was interested in the theme of accountability, and the basic idea that everything we do affects us and the people around us. Major cinematic influences to my work in [Undetectable] include Basic Instinct, Rope, Strangers on a Train; and Gone Girl.”
Kyle Patrick Darling (Michael Saul’s The Surface) stars.
