BIANCA DEL RIO is BACK(rolls)!!
The “Not Today Satan” tour takes over the Straz Center
Called “The Joan Rivers of the Drag World,” by The New York Times, Bianca Del Rio will perform at The Straz Center’s Ferguson Hall on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the evening are on sale now at StrazCenter.org.
The alter ego of seasoned comic Roy Haylock and Season 6 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Del Rio is a self-professed “clown in a gown.” This hilariously hateful comic is known for her foul mouth and unapologetic humor, but her victims hardly have time to feel the sting before she zips on to the next topic. Besides, she is quick to point out that she’s the biggest joke of all.
Rolodex of Hate, Del Rio’s first stand up special, is based on her sold-out world comedy tour of the same name and is now available on Vimeo. Her cult hit Hurricane Bianca, a feature-length comedy that stars Del Rio as a New York teacher who moves to a small town in Texas, gets fired for being gay, and returns disguised as a mean “lady” to get revenge on the people who were nasty to him, was released last year and is currently available on iTunes.
Tickets start at $41 for regular admission but VIP packages are available, some of which include special front row seating, meet and greet with Del Rio, special edition autographed poster, and express entry into the venue. VIP packages start at $99. For more information, visit StrazCenter.org or call the box office at (813) 229-7827.
The Straz Center is located in downtown Tampa at 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place. It is the largest performing arts center in the Southeast and the only one with an on-site performing arts conservatory. The Straz Center was incorporated in 1980 and opened in 1987.
