The Young Professional Network (YPN) is a collaboration between the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (MDGLCC) and the Gay Vista Social Club (GVSC) for LGBT professionals between the ages of 18-39 presents a social mixer entitled “Unlock the Power of Partnerships” from 7-9p.m. at the Rooftop “C-Level” of The Clevelander South Beach (1020 Ocean Drive). Stonewall National Museum – Wilton Manors Gallery presents the Transgender Community and the Media – PANEL DISCUSSION. This event is free to attend with a suggested donation of $5. Refreshments provided by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. Panelists include: Tiffany Arieagus: A case manager at SunServe with experience advocating for the transgender community and those with HIV/AIDS, she is also an international singer and dancer and the 1978 Miss F.I. Florida; Emery Grant: Director of Programming and Education at the Stonewall National Museum & Archives who also serves on the board of directors of SunServe and The Association of American Cultures, and Rajee Narinesingh: a transgender activist, who has worked closely with the media and has appeared on television shows such as “I Am Jazz,” “Anderson Cooper 360,” and “Dr. Phil.”

Broward House invites the entire community to join together for the annual World AIDS Day Vigil & Remembrance Walk. Participants are invited to meet at Hagen Park in Wilton Manors prior to the start of the walk, which will step-off at 7 p.m. The Walk will conclude with a brief Vigil at the Pride Center at Equality Park and will include a performance by the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida and short remarks by members of the community. Free parking will be available for participants in the Hagen Park and Richardson Park lots from 6-10 p.m. World AIDS Day has been recognized internationally since 1988 with a variety of events held across the globe to raise awareness, decrease stigma, remembering those who have died from HIV/AIDS and to stand in unity with those currently infected and affected.
Meet D. C. Chambers on World AIDS Day at Barnes and Nobles (2051 N. Federal Highway, Ft Laud) at 6pm as he does a book signing for “The Last Goodbye: Sonny Noir Story.” Sonny Noir, the protagonist is dedicated to Gay and Lesbian rights, but he loses hope in the American Dream along the way. The story shows a complex friendship between twenty-five-year-old Sonny Noir, a gay man feeling beaten by the system, and forty-two-year-old Jacqueline, a newly transplanted wealthy New York socialite now living in Chicago. The Last Goodbye opens with a riveting quadruple homicide at the Miami International Airport on February 13, 1981, and

Stonewall National Museum & Archives has entered into an exciting partnership with the Center for Independent Documentary and Pride of the Ocean Saving History Film Cruise to present the documentary Before Homosexuals on at 4 p.m. at the Classic Gateway Theatre, 1820 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale. Before Homosexuals director and Emmy Award-winning producer John Scagliotti will be in attendance to present the film, followed by a Q&A. Tickets are $15 General/$10 Members of Stonewall National Museum & Archives and can be purchased only at stonewall-museum.org or on the day of the screening. Seating is limited.
The Club Fort Lauderdale features their Bi-monthly (1st and 3rd Saturday of the month) Res-Erection Naked Blackout event at 10 p.m. This is always a sold-out event so get there early!
