Megan Thee Stallion Says ‘It’s About Time’ Music Tackles Homophobia

In a recent interview with People Magazine, the Grammy-winning “Thot Shit” and “WAP” rapper, and judge on HBO Max’s ballroom competition “Legendary” opened up about the need for more acceptance when it comes to LGBTQ+ folks in mainstream music, and how it’s more important than ever for a reckoning to happening when it comes to the homophobia and hate that still plagues the industry. In the interview she said, “It is about time. Representation is important, and it is really crucial for us all to have compassion and acceptance of every human.” Megan’s comments come on the heels of controversy regarding fellow rapper and collaborator DaBaby, who rightfully received backlash after he recently made homophobic comments about those living with HIV/AIDS during his set at Miami’s Rolling Loud music festival in July.
