Production Begins For A Bisexual ‘Bachelor’

Well, maybe Colton Underwood wouldn’t be a good idea for the show after the fiasco after the last time he was a “Bachelor,” but a new Australian version of the show may add diversity to the super-heteronormative show.

A casting call went out last week looking for single women and men who are “looking for a shot at true love.” The notice also confirmed that this was for a single season, with a request for availability for up to 12 weeks of filming between May and July of this year.

Australia was already ahead of the curve last year with their inclusion of a bisexual Bachelorette for the spin-off competition, centered around a single woman looking for love. The ratings weren’t great, but they weren’t for the country’s version of “The Bachelor” last year either, so it looks like the network isn’t blaming inclusiveness for the lessened viewership.
