Religion And Radical Faith Continue To Attack LBTQ+ Women And It’s Getting Worse

Throughout the majority of Christian history, most Christian theologians and denominations have considered homosexual behavior in men and women as immoral or sinful. The Catholic church and Orthodox churches officially condemn homosexual activity as a sin. The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese lists homosexuality along with fornication, adultery, and more because of the thinking that homosexuality breaks up the institution of marriage and family. A Pew Research Center poll found that the majority of Orthodox Christians in the Eastern European and former USSR states surveyed believe that homosexuality “should not be accepted by society.” Many religions across the world restrict /deny the freedom of women, especially those who belong to the LGBTQ+ community. Hinduism is practiced by one-sixth of the world’s population, making it the third-largest religion in the world. However, modern Hindu culture remains largely antagonistic to the rights of LGBT people, though the ancient Hindu teachings offer a rich and fascinating history for LGBT people. In America a gallup poll of LGBTQ+ community members say the #1 source of those that discriminate against the queer community is the religious faith community and the most dangerous opponents of LGBTQ+ rights is evangelical Christians.
