The Bite Eatery (2715 E Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach), with 10 different authentic dining options that is every food lover’s dream, will host a school supply drive and happy hour from 5:30-7:30 pm to ensure that students in Broward County Public Schools are prepared for school. Donations of school supplies or cash to purchase them will be gratefully accepted and benefit students served by Broward Education Foundation, Children’s Diagnostic Treatment Center, and Children’s Harbor as they prepare for the back-to-school season. National LGBTQ Task Force announced Pose star Dominique Jackson will receive the National Leadership Award at the 50th anniversary National Gala for her part in furthering the Task Force’s mission to advance freedom, justice, and full equality for all LGBTQ people. The Gala is the premier annual celebration of South Florida’s LGBTQ community with this year’s theme “Forever Strong, Unapologetically Queer” speaking to the organization’s determination in uplifting the LGBTQ community. The funds raised by this year’s Gala will fuel the organization’s work to advance the rights and security of LGBTQ people in S. Florida and across the country. The Gala date is October 14 in Miami Beach, Florida.
