Anthony J. Wilkinson’s ‘My Big Gay Italian Funeral’ at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood -Saturday, May 31

Off-Broadway veteran actor and producer Anthony J. Wilkinson’s “My Big Gay Italian Funeral” brings one night of laughter to the Hard Rock Event Center at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood on Saturday, May 31, at 8 p.m.

My Big Gay Italian Funeral picks up where My Big Gay Italian Wedding leaves off, at the funeral of Anthony’s father Joe. Anthony is reunited with his gay brother Peter Pinnunziato, who he hasn’t spoken to in over a decade. Family drama and crazy characters unite when everything that can possibly happen at an Italian wake certainly will!

My Big Gay Italian Wedding is a play written by Anthony J. Wilkinson that premiered off-Broadway in 2003, at the Actor’s Playhouse in New York City. Aside from New York City, the show has already played in over 30 cities in the United States. Internationally the show has had runs in Edinburgh, London, Ireland, Sydney, Hong Kong, parts of Canada and parts of France.

An Italian film based on the play, called Puoi baciare lo sposo (You can kiss the groom), premiered in Italy on March 1, 2018.

Born and raised in New York, Wilkinson began his career as an Intern Writer at ABC Daytime’s “One Life To Live,” working his way up to the position of Associate Director for which he earned 11 nominations and three Daytime Emmy Awards and was a two-time recipient of the Directors Guild of America Award.  In 2017, Wilkinson was cast in the Soap Opera “Tainted Dreams,” which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood’s showing of My Big Gay Italian Funeral is a benefit and a portion of each ticket sale will be given to Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival.

Tickets are on sale now and start at $35. Tickets are available at https://casino.hardrock.com/hollywood/events/my-big-gay-italian-funeral
