The 2025 Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride was a Bold and Bright Affair With 100% Safety

Wilton Manors came alive on June 14th for the 2025 Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival, a powerful celebration of LGBTQ+ pride, visibility, and community. The event featured a dazzling Glow Night Parade that lit up the night with neon, creativity, and contagious energy.

It was cool, it was fun—and it was unforgettable. Fifty thousand came out to celebrate, cheer, and shine under the South Florida sky. With over 70 parade entries, the procession was a joyful mix of floats, marchers, drag, and community organizations.

Thanks to enhanced security systems, the night remained safe for the approximately 50,000 attendees too. Around 8:00 PM, 31-year-old Michael Monheit triggered a metal detector alarm at the east checkpoint. Security immediately ordered him to stop, but he ignored repeated commands from both security and police.

Officers detained him shortly after. A search revealed a loaded firearm and additional magazines in Monheit’s possession. He was arrested on the spot and charged with trespassing and carrying a concealed firearm. Authorities say the firearm and magazines were seized as evidence, and Monheit’s motives remain under investigation.

Wilton Manors Police praised the event’s security team and officers for their quick coordination. Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival was not just a party—it was a powerful statement of resilience, love, and unity.
