Eurovision’s first openly trans winner, Dana International, is criticizing four European countries for boycotting Eurovision 2026 over Israel’s inclusion. Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, and Slovenia say competing is unconscionable amid Gaza’s humanitarian crisis. In an Instagram post, Dana International said she’d long been welcomed in those nations while singing a message of equality and acceptance, asking, “Do you understand how violent and insulting that decision is?” She urged them not to punish an entire country. Eurovision 2026 will take place in Vienna next May.
