LGBTQ+ Fans Urged to Avoid 2026 World Cup in The U.S.

LGBTQ+ football fans are being urged to reconsider traveling to the 2026 Men’s World Cup over safety and human rights concerns in the United States. The tournament runs June 11 to July 19 across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Queer supporter group Three Lions Pride has announced a boycott, calling the situation unsafe and unacceptable. Other groups agree too. Queer Football Fanclubs spokesperson Sven Kistner cited “serious concerns regarding the safety not only of LGBTQ individuals traveling to the USA, but of all travellers to the 2026 World Cup,” adding that conditions for minorities are ever-worsening.
