‘Penisgate’ Puts Olympic Ski Jumping Under the Microscope

A bizarre new controversy is swirling around the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, and it’s being dubbed “Penisgate.” According to reports, ski jumpers are under scrutiny for allegedly injecting their penises with hyaluronic acid to gain a competitive edge. The theory: increasing bulge size allows athletes to qualify for larger suits, which can translate into longer jumps. The World Anti-Doping Agency is now paying attention. The issue first surfaced in Germany’s Bild, following past suit-related scandals. In 2025, Norwegian skiers Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang, along with coaches Magnus Brevik and Thomas Lobben, were banned after altering suit seams to boost performance. So far, there’s no concrete proof of injections or other enhancements. Still, WADA says nothing is off the table. For now, Penisgate remains a rumor—but it’s one the Olympic world can’t ignore.
