It was a pleasure to, once again, sit down with Kathy for this exclusive Hotspots interview.
I originally thought the interview would be on the phone and a few minutes prior I found out it was through zoom. When I clicked in, I did not have my camera on, and Kathy’s first words were “Turn your camera on you F*cker.” Of course, I immediately turned it on but joked with her that if I had known I would have put on my make up. She then goes on to tell me she slept in her face to make sure she looked good for early morning interviews, and she did look great!
I then reminded her that I had interviewed her a few times and instead of asking the same questions, I would just start from the last time we spoke, so I asked her “How has her life changed since Covid,’ and her response was “That’s what you are asking me with all this craziness in the world?” and I said I have questions on that but wanted to start since the last time we spoke… and she said “I only want to talk about whats going on in the world right now” and Kathy Griffin gets what she wants….
She went on to say: “We have to have our media front and center, and I promise to squash my beef with Anderson Cooper if he goes to Minnesota. Ice is signing up people for 250k a year and don’t think you are safe in Florida with that lunatic Ron DeSantis. I just did a Canadian interview and apologized to them.
I wouldn’t be surprised if my show starts with ‘fuck ice.’ It’s an unusual time to be a comic with Renee Good just having her face shot off. If I am the loudest one with my microphone, I will be talking about it. Get it together Florida… I am also going to Jacksonville, and I might as well go to Kentucky…put out the gay PB.”
Kathy then asked me what my next question was and I said “Nope, I am going to let you just continue talking,” and continue she did.
“I am still going to bring the laughs as It’s a crazy time in our country and be on tour. I am really big on Threads, and I have been selling a lot of tickets on that. I hate who it’s owned by, but I am selling tickets there. It is crazy that we have these masked thugs walking around with semi-automatic weapons and murdering people.
This president of ours needs to go in the home; I will drive him myself. And people, President JD Vance is not the answer.
In the show, I will also have very funny stories where I make fun of celebrities and non-celebrities. I promise you, I WILL make fun of Florida right to your face. I have been almost everywhere, but Florida is the craziest state. You never get sick of being crazy. You have that red area and here I come, the lady with the threads.
As a reminder, I am the only comedian who was investigated by the department of justice.
I want to see David Muir and Anderson Cooper on the ground…where are they? I am here to change hearts and minds.
I do bring the fun! Honestly, I was considering cancelling the tour as our nation barely survived year one, but I was hearing the ticket buyers say that we need more laughter, so I didn’t cancel.
The feeling of coming to a live comedy show cannot be replicated and I want people to have a sense of community and feel safe. Be in reality but have a safe space to laugh.
Also, remind everyone that I have a special currently on YouTube for FREE (that’s right FREE), but the shows in Florida are all new material.
(note from Scott….I never typed so quickly in my life!)
