Tim Gunn is reflecting on the personal heartbreak that shaped his life for more than four decades. Speaking on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast, the former Project Runway mentor recalled a nine-year relationship that ended in 1982. Gunn said his partner admitted infidelity during the early AIDS crisis, a time marked by fear and limited medical understanding. Gunn told Handler, “I’ve been in New York for 42 years. Forty three years I’ve been celibate.” He said he underwent HIV testing every six months for ten years and never tested positive, but the experience left a lasting emotional impact.
