Within minutes of the stone’s discovery, the infection went systemic, forcing doctors to place him on ECMO life support and into a medically induced coma. Porter described the ordeal in stark terms, stating he was effectively ‘dead for three days’ while machines kept his body going. Today, Porter is back and standing tall, calling himself a ‘walking miracle.’
