A controversial claim from Milo Yiannopoulos is stirring tensions within pro-Trump circles. The former MAGA provocateur alleged that Donald Trump faked the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt on his life. The shooting, carried out by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, a registered Republican, had drawn widespread condemnation. It also fueled conspiracy theories across political lines. In a March 15 post on Twitter, influencer Sneako wrote, “If the Trump assassination attempt was actually real that [n-word] would be bringing it up every minute.”
Reposting, Yiannopoulos added, “I hate myself for thinking it but dude that s**t wasn’t real. There was no assassination attempt. It didn’t happen. I’m sorry it just didn’t.” According to AlterNet, the remarks have triggered infighting among MAGA supporters online.
If you wonder where you have heard his name before, he is the same person who got ostracized from Republican circles for making comments that were seemingly supporting child rape. Later, he renounced his homosexuality in 2021. In an interview with Tucker Carlson, he even attributed homosexuality to childhood trauma and criticized LGBTQ+ identity.
