Trans Darts Player Noa-Lynn Van Leuven Retires After Ban From Women’s Events Takes Effect

The Darts Regulation Authority, which governs the Professional Darts Corporation, enforced the ban with immediate effect, following a similar 2025 decision by the World Darts Federation. Van Leuven wrote on Instagram: “I just got an email. Apparently, I just got retired. Not by choice, but because I am no longer allowed to compete…This isn’t just about me; it is another huge hit for the trans community.” The 29-year-old Dutch player has won six titles since 2022 and made history in 2024 as the first trans woman to qualify for the World Championship. Fellow players, including Luke Humphries and Neil Duff, have voiced support.
