Caleb Shomo, lead singer and founding member of Beartooth, came out as gay in an emotional Instagram post saying, “I am a proudly gay man.” The 33-year-old said he spent years struggling with his identity while navigating depression, religion, and alcoholism. Shomo added that getting sober helped him reconcile with his sexuality. Shomo’s wife, Fleur Shomo, whom he married in 2012, later shared her own emotional statement, saying she supports her husband. The post read, “Nobody will know anything about our marriage like we do…I already miss it & my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it’s done.” Beartooth’s sixth studio album, Pure Ecstasy, is set for release in August.
