John Cena is back as Peacemaker — and he’s bringing bisexual chaos, outrageous humour, and the kind of over-the-top antics only James Gunn could dream up. It’s been a long wait, more than three and a half years since the series first premiered, but the hit DC show is finally returning for season two. The new red-band trailer just dropped, and it’s every bit as wild, raunchy, and unapologetically queer as fans had hoped. In a recent promo video, Gunn challenged Cena to a cheeky game of “Would You Rather.”
Gunn asked: “Alright, you can stop an alien invasion, but you’d have to eliminate one of these. A) an alien intruder disguised as a bald eagle; or B) your Tinder date for the night.”
Cena didn’t miss a beat, answering: “I don’t think he would eliminate a bald eagle, and if he… had to eliminate a Tinder date, he would just go to Grindr and find another date. The great thing about Peacemaker is that all apps are welcome, all the time.”
The cast this season includes Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows. And yes, Vigilante is back, too — hilariously awkward as ever. From queer jokes to unapologetic debauchery, Peacemaker season two looks ready to smash boundaries again.
