Fay Albernas (Fay What?!), is a Sagittarius, and is from Medellin Colombia.
- What city do you live in now?
North Miami
2) How long have you and Teresa been married/together, and what makes Teresa the perfect woman for you?
We have been together 10 years and married 8 years. Teresa is perfect for me as she puts up with all my crap. When we met, I was trying to stay away from all the hot Cubans, but then she came over and changed more than my last name.
3) What’s your perfect date with Teresa?
A home cooked meal that she cooks (because I can’t) surrounded by our dogs and cats.
- What’s the secret to a healthy Lesbian Relationship?
I don’t know what the secret is for other relationships, but I honestly believe that our marriage is so happy because we are both so busy, so that when we do see each other its always a honeymoon.
- Are you excited to be the first (non-celebrity) woman to have their own cover?
100%, please pinch me. I have been following Hotspots for decades and it’s always been my go to even before I worked for Hotspots Happening Out. To be on the cover of the holy grail of gayness means everything to me and I don’t take it lightly. I’m on the cover representing all the Latino’s, all the gender non-conforming, and all folks who identify as women.

- What do you do for fun?
I thrift and hang out with gay boys
- Tell us about Fays Fur Family?
It’s a pet boarding service where we offer family style boarding at our home. The company just celebrated 10 years. It started as a rescue service and to this day a portion of the proceeds goes to rescuing pets in need. The business started when I first got sober because I thought I would never open a mic again, but the universe had other plans.
- What does Women’s Month mean to you?
Its not just a celebration, it’s a reminder that visibility matters, especially for the women in our community who fight daily to be seen and heard and respected in every space they walk into.
- What advice do you have for other women?
Stay Strong and true to themselves, no matter how many times you are shut down, your voice matters. Take up space even when it is uncomfortable.
- Tell our readers about your/our FAW team and how they can get involved.
I am beyond excited that this is the first year that Hotspots happening Out is a beneficiary of Florida AIDS Walk. So, to have my own team means everything to me Walk with me, by going to Hotspotsmagazine.com/walk/.
- What does the future hold for you?
I will be taking over the world shortly!
