On Sunday, June 14th, under the artistic direction of Dan Bassett, the South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble will present their summer concert, “All That Jazz” at 7:30 PM on the Amaturo Theater stage of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This one night only performance will feature jazz and jazz-influenced music from the last century. From the roots of jazz in African and New Orleans music, to swing, to modern jazz, all styles will be presented. The Pride Jazz Ensemble will be featured on several selections and will be joined by six-time Grammy Award winner Gary Burton on the vibraphone. George Gershwin’s “American in Paris”, Chuck Mangione’s “Land of Make Believe,” and Frank Ticheli’s “Blue Shades” are just a few of the musical highlights.
The Pride Wind Ensemble has become known for producing concerts that are innovative, creative and exciting for both the musicians and the concert-goers. Special lighting, dancers, backdrops and guest soloists are just a few of the surprises in store. This is an event you will not want to miss.
